Our coaches

We take you on the same way in each of the three spaces: we look at where you are, we build a plan, we adjust it as you go.

Squash

Four courts, an NCCP-certified coach, and tools you will not find in every club. From beginner to ranked player.

Alex Demars

Squash Director

  • NCCP-certified coach
  • World No. 783 · PSA

Head of squash at Espace Y, NCCP-certified coach, an engineer by training, a player for ten years and ranked 783rd in the world (PSA), still climbing. It all starts with an assessment of where you are, then a plan built around your goals. We have tools on hand like the Squash Cannon (a ball machine) and video review to speed your progress up. We work by priority, fundamentals first, and adjust session by session based on your results and your background. Want to finish drenched? Or fresh? What I am after is that you progress at your own pace and that you see the difference.

Baseball

Cages across 5,000 sq ft, and coaches out of US college and professional baseball. Hitters, pitchers, student-athletes and committed amateurs.

Baseball DirectorKinesiologist (B.Sc.)

  • Former NCAA player
  • Former NCAA coach

Kinesiologist (B.Sc.), and a former NCAA baseball player and coach. I work with developing athletes as much as with adults who want their strength back and want to stay clear of injury. Every programme starts with an assessment, is built in blocks across the year, and is adjusted as your results come in. A clear plan, follow-up that is real, progress you can see.

Athletic development

  • Certified coach
  • High-level pitcher

A certified coach and a high-level baseball pitcher, I specialise in athletic development. My time in US college baseball and on the professional circuit lets me apply the demands of elite sport day to day. My aim is straightforward: to make you genuinely strong, in a body that performs, holds up and moves well. Built on discipline, consistency and hard work, I will help you get the most out of your potential and go past your goals.

The gym, for developing athletes as much as for adults who want their strength back and want to stay clear of injury. Programmes built in blocks across the year, on your own or in a small group.

How it works

The disciplines change; the approach does not. Here it is in three beats.

  1. Assessment

We start by looking at where you actually are. No programme before we have seen your level, your constraints and your background.

  2. A plan of your own

A plan built around your goals, by priority: fundamentals first, then the rest. Built in blocks across the year for strength work.

  3. We adjust

The plan moves session by session, based on your results. That follow-up is the difference between training and progressing.

And what does it cost?

Single sessions and coaching packs are listed with the rest of the pricing. The packs are members-only; the single hour is open to everyone.
