From 22 to 26 September 2026, forty-eight players on the PSA World Rankings meet in Quebec City. It is the first international tournament ever held at Espace Y, and the centre’s first event since it opened.
An international event, not a regional stop
The Open de la Ville de Québec is sanctioned by the PSA, the Professional Squash Association, on its Challenger Tour: Challenger 9 for the men, Challenger 6 for the women. Both draws are international: the women’s draw, initially restricted to the Pan-American region, was opened to all countries by the PSA in early August.
In practice: points won here count toward the world rankings, players may enter from anywhere, and the draw is built from the PSA rankings at the entry deadline. The format is straight knock-out, one round per day, through to the two finals on Saturday.
Forty-six matches in five days
Twenty-four men, twenty-four women, forty-six matches, US$15,000 in prize money. Tuesday’s opening rounds are the busiest days of the week; the field narrows through to Friday’s semi-finals and Saturday’s finals, which crown both champions the same evening.
Matches are broadcast internationally on the PSA’s official platforms.
Four new courts, built to international standards
Espace Y opened in September 2026: 23,500 square feet given over to getting better, including four new squash courts built to international standards, with professional lighting and a mezzanine above them. Alongside are the indoor baseball cages, the gym, the ice baths, the saunas and Café Y.
The tournament is also a rehearsal: Canada Games squash will be played here in March 2027.

Coming to watch
Five days of world-class squash, ten minutes from downtown
Top-level squash is a sport to watch from close range. At Espace Y the mezzanine looks straight down onto the four courts: you are a few metres from the players, near enough to hear the ball and read the rallies.
The opening rounds are the fullest days: as many as sixteen matches from morning to night. Friday's semi-finals and Saturday's finals are the ones to plan for: both finals, men's and women's, are played the same day.

Become a partner
Associate your brand with world-class squash
Squash joins the Olympic programme at Los Angeles 2028, a sport recognized for its values of excellence, performance and discipline. An international tournament brings together a broad audience: players of every level, families, sports fans and local business people. The matches are streamed on the PSA's official platforms, reaching the global squash audience.
Four tiers are available, from Bronze to Presenter. The presenting partner funds the prize money in full and gives the tournament its name. Every tier carries visibility during the match week and signage at the club through June 2027.
Commitments close on Friday 28 August 2026, to leave time to produce the signage.

Volunteer
An international tournament runs on its volunteers
Around thirty volunteers keep the week running: player check-in and registration, court turnaround between matches, logistics, coordination. Shifts are four hours long and run from Monday 21 to Sunday 27 September.
The Open doubles as a test event for squash at the March 2027 Canada Games: a chance to train on a real international tournament.
The Open Amateur
25 to 27 September, on the same courts
Alongside the professionals, the Open Amateur runs from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 September, sanctioned by Squash Québec and managed on ClubLocker. It includes amateur categories and a PSA Satellite draw, the entry point to the professional circuit, whose results count toward the PSA World Rankings.
Between 60 and 100 players are expected. Categories and entry fees will be published on ClubLocker.
